Introduction

The Penrith and District Badminton league hosts badminton clubs in the Eden Valley from Brampton in the north of Cumbria down to Newbiggin on Lune in the south across to Greta (Keswick) in the west and Kirkby Stephen in the east. There are currently 3 divisions with several clubs fielding up to 3 teams. There is also a Junior / Senior league which has been set up to introduce and encourage juniors to participate in badminton.

Aim and Scope

The aim of the Penrith and District Badminton league is to promote and encourage Badminton at both Senior and junior level within the Eden area. This is achieved by providing competitive league matches for both senior players together with a junior/senior league which encourages and increases the playing standard of the juniors by integrating them with more senior players. This has seen the benefits as several juniors are already playing to senior standards and representing Eden within Cumbria as well as for the County.

The association also actively encourages coaching sessions and is available for anyone that is a member of a club to participate in.
