Penrith Badminton Club Rules
The Club shall be called
Penrith Badminton club. It will be based
at Penrith Leisure Centre, Penrith.
The purpose of the club is to
provide the opportunity for members to play badminton for pleasure and
competitively for one of the teams..
The club officials will be
Chairperson, Secretary, and a treasurer.
Each elected at the AGM and must stand for re-election each year. No meeting of the committee shall be in
quorum unless at least two officers and one member are present.
Subscriptions must be paid in
one installment due by the end of
October at the latest. In
exceptional circumstances, at the discretion of the Treasurer, it may be
possible to pay in 2 installments. Subscriptions shall be decided by a simple
majority vote at the AGM.
Visitors may attend the club
on three nights throughout the season and pay a visitor’s fee. Subscriptions payable after the fourth night
less the visitor’s fee.
A new member can be invited
to play in any team at the discretion of team captains at any time in the
season. For the purpose of the rule the
definition of a new member is someone who has joined the club for the first
time either after the beginning of or during that season.
Team players must be full
paying members and attend club nights regularly.
The selection committee will
undertake selection of teams. Which consists of the previous season’s captains
and selection chairman and a club representative. A meeting will be held prior to the season
where the selection committee select the teams. Each new team will select a
captain for the forthcoming season.
All home matches are to start
at 7.00pm prompt. Players must be at the
sports hall by 7.00pm at the latest to prepare the hall and courts.
Any potential new member be
advised that they are allowed to come along to 3 club nights following which a
decision should be made by themselves whether or not they wish to join and by 2
members of the committee whether they are suitable to join the club.
Any amendments to the rules
are to be made at the AGM.
